His ExcellencySir Patrick Bijou
His Excellency Sir Patrick Bijou was born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America. He came to Britain at the age of 5 when his father obtained a scholarship to study and has remained ever since. Sir Patrick attended Camden College, receiving his degree in Business Studies and later his MBA in Economic and International banking. Having studied and lived in New York for 12 years, he secured his first job at Wells Fargo Bank on Wall Street and later went on to the trading floor, specialising in derivates and the debt markets. He then excelled as a bond trader and took up opportunities at various banks, including Deutsche and Merrill Lynch on Wall Street, working as an investment banker.
He became responsible for setting up MTN & Private Placement Desk and dealer function within Lloyds Bank PLC. He was the first trader for Lloyd’s treasury to significantly increase the portion of self-led deals from 4% to 32% in 2002.
Throughout his illustrious career, he received many accolades, such as the Multiple Recipient and Wells Fargo “Valley of the Stars” award. He also received the Wells Fargo “Circle of Stars” award, was a Member of the Wells Fargo Millionaire Club and Champion Circle and became the notable banker he is today.
Sir Patrick is a Global Ambassador for the International Rights and Welfare Association (IRAWA), a Royal Diplomatic Club Ambassador, and a Commonwealth Entrepreneurs Club President. In May 2021, he was appointed Ambassador by The Academy of Universal Global Peace USA as a member of the governing board/trustees and was awarded The Human Excellency Award.
His Excellency was finally knighted for his services to banking and charity.
