Who We Are ?
Our Concern Stems From This Unfortunate Situation:
when the guns of the heartless rebels dropped silent to end the protracted civil conflict some years ago, all of us were very happy; but is was a pregnant happiness full of sorrows, in that, the war left behind tragic legacies of poverty endemic, acute food shortage, problems of farm sites and tree-crop farms having reverted to bushes, marginalized war affected women and girls including destitute children, high population of school-age-children with zero access to schooling, dilapidated houses strained with bullet scares, and damaged physical infrastructure, to mention a few.
Now, immediately after the said senseless war, the just faded away Ebola and the now challenging Corona Virus all of the sudden broke out, pervaded the nation and carried dozens to their respective lonesome graves. The legacies which this killer virus left just worsened the situation with abject poverty, high population of orphans without humane care, and incapacitated people who lack help but only face the daily struggles to get their basic human needs, etcetera. It is against this background the organization, New Empowerment Initiative-Sierra Leone is formed to (with the help of a dynamic and hardworking Patron called Sir. Patrick Bijou), address these unfortunate problems of our rural poor and poorest by means of development and self-helps projects.
The strength of NEI-SL :
The strength of NEI-SL comes from voluntary efforts to bring experienced and dedicated development workers, people and clientele who its projects will directly benefit. The organization has a reputation of effectively participating in various rural community development activities that have meaningfully contributed to the enhancement of the livelihood of majority of its members and clientele. Activities such as identifying the felt-needs of the locals in their various localities, composing them into groups of 100-clientele each, and animating them to engage in self-help community development activities, have always been the key method in smoothly sustaining the organization to date.We are concerned citizens of development adepts of Sierra Leone, who have come together and formed a youth-led non-profit making rural community development organization, to address the problems which our poor rural communities are facing. They have zero access to handouts from humane-centered organization that will help to solve all their problems and make them self-reliant and self-sufficient.
The status of NEI-SL’s leadership :
The status of NEI-SL’s leadership in the implementation of empowerment and development projects is completely unique as compare to other organizations over the years: the management of NEI-SL is acquainted with the local traditions of all the Sixteen (16) districts of Sierra Leone, the entire management staff speak the various dialects spoken in Sierra Leone, and they are conditioned to work in difficult and diverse settings located at reasonable distances in the jungle. These staff live with the locals and know how best to solve their problems, this alone has made the locals in their communities to love NEI-SL, and trust it to be the only rural community development organization they will depend on to address their problems satisfactorily.
The Reason Of This Website:
So the reason of this website is to inform all humane-centered organizations the world over about the ugly state of being of these poor locals in our rural communities, our program designs to address their problems, our progress, our needs to get donor(s) that will form long term partnership with us and help us do what matters most in rural community developments.
NEI-SL is the short way of calling the New Empowerment Initiative-Sierra Leone. NEI-SL comprises of veteran development workers with expertise in rural community development. These development experts hold the view that reliable improvement in education and agriculture plays a pivotal role in national development.
As said earlier, NEI-SL is a non-profit making, non-governmental organization designed to share the concerns of the locals in their rural communities, and then turn their priorities into policies and actions.
Besides, we are there to also provide immediate resources and relief for clientele communities to upgrade their political and social activities, so that they will become strong advocates for better human state of being in their localities.

- We hate tribal and racial discrepancies, and have no phobia about people coming from any part of the world to stay in good faith and help to develop our country, Sierra Leone.
- We strongly advocate tougher vision of non-tribal and non-xenophobic resource management system which is totally devoid of structural violence and selective justice among members, partners and clientele.
- We strongly maintain the principles of equitable treatment and justice among members regardless of sex, tribe, and race, religious and political affiliations.
